INTRODUCTION TO MAPMA
Initiated by the Public Works Department Malaysia (JKR Malaysia), the Malaysian Asset and Project Management Association or in short, MAPMA, was instituted in November 2008 to drive the professionalism of asset and project management in Malaysia across all sectors with a strategy to significantly lift the level of asset and project management by focusing on competency development, membership, international recognition.
The Association is a professional organisation dedicated to the advancement of asset and project management. As a start, it undertakes to introduce a set of project management competency standards that are internationally benchmarked and that have been contextualised to Malaysia and a project management certification scheme that provides a structured project management career pathway in both the private and public sectors.
The aims of the MAPMA are the enhancement in asset and project management and the advancement of asset and project management as a profession.
- To promote awareness of applications of asset and project management as a powerful tool for the management of routine and non routine activities.
- To advance the profession of asset and project management and the knowledge on which it is based and stimulates its application for the benefit of industry and public.
- To support Member Associations in the implementation of asset and project management knowledge and standards nationally and internationally.
